On May 24, Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall Trustee Robert Moll was
honored by Executive Service Corps of Western Pennsylvania as Management
Volunteer of the Year at its annual luncheon, Partnering for Excellence:
A Celebration of Community.
Bob retired from PPG after more than 32 years of work in business planning
and information systems management on February 28, 2002. The very next day
he began volunteering with area nonprofits through Executive Service Corps.
His clients have ranged from start-ups to established organizations, and his
assignments have included strategic planning, IT management, budgeting and
executive director recruitment. His clients remark that he is patient,
thoughtful and brings a fresh perspective to their operations.
As an Executive Service Corps volunteer, Bob assisted Andrew Carnegie Free
Library & Music Hall (ACFL&MH;) in the development of its strategic plan.
During this project Bob and the Trustees of ACFL&MH; developed mutual respect
and admiration for each other. A few months later the Trustees invited Bob
to join them, and Bob accepted with enthusiasm.
Each year, professionals are linked with more than 100 nonprofit agencies
through Executive Service Corps. The nonprofits receive valuable assistance
addressing common management challenges; the executives receive rewarding
assignments that draw on their years of experience.
