Andrew Carnegie Free Library hosted a Summer Reading Celebration
on Wednesday August 18, 2004. Joe Wos, popular area cartoonist,
began the celebration at 11 a.m. with a unique blend of stories and live cartoon
illustrations. The program continued with refreshments provided by Cold Stone
Creamery in Collier Town Square.
The Summer Reading Celebration included presentation of certificates to children
who completed the Andrew Carnegie Free Library Summer Reading Program. These
youngsters earned Book Bucks by reading books and completing activities
throughout the summer. Children received and redeemed their Book Bucks for
prizes including books, puzzles and small toys at the Library's Trading Post
during the celebration. All children who attended received a small number
of Book Bucks so that everyone could take home a Trading Post prize.
Children who participated in Summer Reading 2004 but were unable to attend the
party may still receive prizes. Contact Molly Stockdale for details by calling
(412)276-3456 or e-mailing her.
